Themed Weekends at the Texas Renaissance Festival this Fall

For eight weekends this fall, you can visit the Texas Renaissance Festival to take part in different fantastical experiences. Here are the 8 weekends laid out:
– Octoberfest: When you attend the weekend of October 11-12th, you will be transported back to Old Bavaria as you take part in fun activities that include things like costume contests, bratwurst eating competitions, and plenty of delicious beers.
– 1001 Dreams: The weekend of October 18-19th will be one filled with the things of your dreams. Think about the elves, fairies, and other magical creatures that are often part of the vivid images that you have during deep sleep. This fantastical weekend will be a chance to showcase your best magical fantasy costume as you participate in a dragon wing eating competition.
– All Hallows Eve: When you come on October 25-26th, the festival will be transformed into a celebration of All Hallows Eve. Come in your best ghost and ghoul costume as you experience the Transylvanian court. This weekend will showcase a kettle corn eating contest.
– Pirate Adventure: If you’re looking for a party on the shores of the seven seas, consider attending the pirate adventure weekend on November 1-2nd. There will be prizes for the best dressed pirate and a fish-n-chips eating contest for all ages.
– Heroes & Villains: Both heroes and heroines are welcome the weekend of November 8-9th as they clash with the vixens of from history. Complete with a gyro eating contest and a chance to show off your alter ego, you don’t want to miss it.
– Barbarian Invasion: On November 15-16th, there will be a weekend filled with a feast, plenty to drink, and plundering as you attend this barbaric rumpus. Enjoy participating in the turkey leg eating contest and show off your barbaric costume.
– Highland Fling: For the weekend of November 22-23rd, the lads and lassies will flock to enjoy the pipes of Scotland. There will be a Bonnie Knees contest and a haggis eating contest.
– Celtic Christmas: To kick off the Christmas season, there will be a weekend filled with Mother and Father Christmas on Nov 28-30th. There will be gifts as well as holiday music to help you feel the spirit of the season.
